Kesari Chapter 2 Box Office Collection Day 2: Akshay’s Film Sees 22% Hike; Beats Sunny’s Jaat On 2nd Day

Kesari Chapter 2 Box Office Collection Day 2: The audience can't keep calm as Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan have collaborated for the first time for Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story Of Jallianwala Bagh. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 is a historical courtroom drama and is bankrolled by Dharma Productions. With Ananya Panday also taking lead roles with Akshay and R Madhavan, Kesari Chapter 2 quickly became one of the year's most awaited releases and created a massive buzz with its intriguing trailer.

To note, Kesari Chapter 2 is a spiritual sequel to Akshay Kumar's Kesari which had released in 2019. The movie is based on the book, The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. This book explores the life of C. Sankaran Nair and the tragic events of the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Interestingly, Kesari Chapter 2 features Akshay in the role of C Sankaran Nair with R Madhavan portraying the antagonist Neville McKinley.

After recording an opening day collection of Rs 7.75 crores, Kesari Chapter 2 saw a hike of 22% in numbers on the second day of release. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kesari Chapter 2 minted Rs 9.5 crores on day 2 (first Saturday) which took the overall collection to Rs 17.25 crores

With a collection of Rs 9.5 crores, Kesari Chapter 2 has managed to beat Sunny Deol's Jaat on the second day of release. For the uninitiated, Jaat made a collection of Rs 7 crores on day 2

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar recalled shooting for Kesari Chapter 2 and stated, "Mostly actors use glycerin for their eyes to cry during film shoot. But, during the (emotional) scene and there is also a song...It is one of the most emotional song I have ever heard. The entire set was crying when we were picturing the whole scene"
