Starring Akshay Kumar as the fierce lawyer C. Sankaran Nair, R Madhavan as his opponent advocate 'Neville McKinley' alongside Ananya Panday essaying the role of 'Dilreet Gill', Kesari 2 aka Kesari Chapter 2 opened to an overwhelming response from fans and critics alike. Released worldwide on April 18, 2025, the Hindi-language courtroom-drama, mounted on an alleged budget of somewhere between Rs 100-150 cr, Kesari Chapter 2 has been bankrolled by Karan Johar under his production banner Dharma Productions.

Amidst decent pre-release buzz, the movie had an average opening at the box office and raked in around Rs 7.75 cr on the day of its release. Due to the positive word-of-mouth, the film witnessed a slight boost in numbers on the first weekend, followed by dips on weekdays. However, the film maintained a remarkable hold at ticket counters, earning Rs 46.1 cr in its first week.

According to Sacnilk, the Akshay Kumar starrer witnessed a solid 72.84% growth on its second Saturday (yesterday, April 26), taking the total nett earning to Rs 57.15 cr (approx.) in 9 days.

Kesari Chapter 2 Box Office Collection Prediction Day 10 (Today)

Given the current buzz, Kesari Chapter 2 is likely to maintain its strong grip at tickets counters today as well (2nd Sunday, April 27). It is being expected that the film will managed to add around Rs 7-9 cr today.

If the prediction turns out to be correct, Akshay-Madhavan-Ananya's film might end up somewhere around the Rs 65 cr-mark by the end of its 2nd weekend.

Kesari Chapter 2 Vs Jaat Vs Ground Zero Box Office

As per the box office report card by Sacnilk, Kesari Chapter 2 seemed to be first choice for cine-goers over Jaat and Ground Zero on Saturday (yesterday). While Sunny Deol's Jaat minted around Rs 1.25 cr on its day 17 (3rd Sat), Ground Zero managed to nett around Rs 1.90 cr on its first Saturday.

Jaat's total 17 day-collection stands at Rs 82.85 cr, while Ground Zero's 2-day earning is reported by at Rs 3.05 cr.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar recently attended a screening of Kesari Chapter 2 with co-star R Madhavan in Mumbai. While interacting with the audience, Kumar strongly reacted and expressed his anger over the recent Pahalgam attack.

As per reports, the actor stated, "Unfortunately, aaj bhi humare sab ke dil mein woh gussa phir se jaaga hain. Aap sab log achchi tarah se jaante he main kis chiz ki baat kar raha hoon. Aaj bhi hum un terrorists ko ek hi baat kehna chahenge. Jo maine is film mein kahi hai, kya? (sic)"

Holding the mic towards the theatre audience, when Akshay Kumar asked everyone to repeat his dialogue, the one that he used for General Dyer in Kesari, the fans screamed, "F*** you!"
