This project is a spiritual extension of the 2019 blockbuster, Kesari, and aims to present a mix of courtroom drama alongside stories never told before. With Dharma Productions producing and Karan Singh Tyagi directing, the film is poised to be a cinematic marvel. The addition of stars like R Madhavan and Ananya Panday alongside Kumar ensures a strong ensemble cast, heightening audience anticipation.
The narrative of "Kesari Chapter 2" is inspired by "The Case That Shook The Empire," written by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. It focuses on the legal crusade led by advocate C Sankaran Nair following the devastating events of 1919 in Jallianwala Bagh. Akshay Kumar embodies the role of advocate Nair, with Ananya Panday and R Madhavan bringing to life Dilreet Gill and Neville McKinley, respectively. This casting choice is intended to vividly portray these historical figures, immersing viewers in a crucial chapter of India's fight for independence.
