Akshay Kumar has a deep-seated connection to the story told in "Kesari Chapter 2," as it ties back to his own family history. His grandfather witnessed the atrocities of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre firsthand. This personal link drives Akshay's dedication to ensuring that the true narrative of this historical event is brought to light. By bringing attention to the real stories of those affected, he aims to honor the memory of the victims and showcase the tragedy's full magnitude.
In urging the British government and King Charles to watch "Kesari Chapter 2," Akshay Kumar is making a powerful statement. This move goes beyond simply asking them to view a film; it's about encouraging a deeper understanding and acknowledgment of a grim period in history. Kumar's intent isn't just to elicit an apology but to spur an authentic recognition and comprehension of the past wrongs depicted in the movie. Through this effort, he wishes to kickstart a process of natural acknowledgment and regret for the depicted events.
"I'm not here with a begging bowl to say, 'They should say sorry'. I want them to at least watch this movie and realise the mistake. Other things will flow automatically from their mouth. The apology is bound to happen, it will flow on its own. But I want them to watch this film. I want the British government and King Charles to watch this film. They should see what happened. The rest will follow automatically," said Akshay Kumar, shedding light on his perspective. His approach is not about demanding an apology outright but rather about fostering an awareness of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre's enormity, with the hope that this realization will naturally lead to an acknowledgment of the historical misstep.
