Akshay Kumar's dedication to making "Kesari Chapter 2" goes beyond mere storytelling. It stems from a deeply personal place, as his grandfather was a direct witness to the atrocities of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. This familial connection drives Akshay's determination to bring to light the true gravity of the event, aiming to correct historical inaccuracies and honor those who suffered. By presenting authentic accounts of the incident, he seeks to ensure the victims are remembered, and the full scope of the tragedy is recognized.
Akshay Kumar has explicitly called on the British government and King Charles to witness "Kesari Chapter 2," in an effort to educate them about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre's cruel reality. His request is not just for them to see a film but to understand the depth of the injustice depicted. Kumar's aim transcends the expectation of an apology; instead, he hopes for a profound acknowledgment and reflection on the historical misdeeds shown in the movie. Through this engagement, he believes a genuine sense of understanding and remorse will naturally emerge, highlighting his approach to fostering awareness rather than demanding contrition.
"I'm not here with a begging bowl to say, 'They should say sorry'. I want them to at least watch this movie and realise the mistake. Other things will flow automatically from their mouth. The apology is bound to happen, it will flow on its own. But I want them to watch this film. I want the British government and King Charles to watch this film. They should see what happened. The rest will follow automatically," stated Akshay Kumar. His words underline a desire not for an immediate apology but for a realisation of the events' gravity by the British authorities through "Kesari Chapter 2." Kumar believes that such recognition is the first step toward natural reconciliation and acknowledgment of the massacre's severity.
