Kesari Chapter 2 Morning Occupancy Day 4: Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan and Ananya Panday starrer Kesari Chapter 2 (Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story Of Jallianwala Bagh) completed its first weekend at the box office on an impressive note. Due to the positive word-of-mouth, the latest Bollywood courtroom-drama maintained a strong hold at ticket counters on the weekend. Amidst strong pre-release buzz, Kesari Chapter 2 (Kesari 2) hit cinemas worldwide on April 18, 2025, coinciding with the Good Friday holiday.

After a positive opening weekend, Kesari Chapter 2 is going through its first Monday test today (April 21). While we await its Monday box office report card, the film has kickstarted its Monday run with a sharp dip.

Kesari Chapter 2 brings the untold story of the aftermath of the horrifying 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre on big screens. Helmed by Karan Singh Tyagi and bankrolled by Karan Johar under his production banner Dharma Productions, Kesari Chapter 2 is one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Meeting the expectations, the latest Hindi-language courtroom-drama opened to rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

Amidst the positive response, Kesari Chapter 2 managed to rake in around Rs 7.75 cr on the day of its release. The strong reviews led the film to see approximately 25.81% jump in numbers on its first Saturday. As per Sacnilk, the movie added around Rs 9.75 cr on day 2, followed by a massive 29.65% hike on Sunday. Yesterday (first Sunday, April 21), the movie netted around Rs 12 cr, according to Sacnilk, and took the overall nett numbers to Rs 29.5 cr in 3 days. That means, the Akshay Kumar starrer is all set to cross the Rs 30 cr mark at the domestic box office today (Monday, April 21).

As per a tweet shared by Cine Hub page on X (formerly Twitter), Kesari Chapter 2 is maintaining a strong hold at ticket counters across India on tis first Monday (today).

According to the latest Sacnilk update, the film saw more than 50% drop in footfalls in morning shows compared to yesterday. Apparently, Kesari 2 recorded around 7.45% morning occupancy today.

Starring Akshay Kumar as the brave lawyer C. Sankaran Nair, R Maenjoyed a solid dhavan as the advocate Neville McKinley and Ananya Panday as Dilreet Gill, Kesari Chapter 2 enjoyed a solid 17.28% footfalls in morning shows yesterday.

And today, it had a 7.45% morning occupancy.

Despite the massive drop in morning occupancy, Kesari Chapter 2 has managed to beat Sky Force on the first Monday morning occupancy game. Sky Force, which marked Akshay Kumar's first release of 2025, had its highly-anticipated grand theatrical release on 24th January 2025. As per Sacnilk, the aerial patriotic actioner, co-starring debutant Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur, had witnessed only 6.01% morning occupancy on its first Monday.

Mounted on a reported estimated budget of somewhere between Rs 100-150 cr, Kesari Chapter 2 has been receiving rave reviews form everyone. The power-packed performance of the dynamic cast is one of the highlights of the film.

If reports are to be believed, Kesari Chapter 2 (Kesari 2) will have its OTT premiere on JioHotstar (Disney+ Hotstar) after its theatrical run. An official update on its OTT release date is still awaited.
