Kesari Chapter 2 Night Occupancy Day 1: Akshay Kumar, having already captured audiences earlier this year with Sky Force, is set to grace the big screen once more. This time, he's part of Kesari Chapter 2, a gripping historical courtroom drama that has everyone talking. The film, which stands as a spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit Kesari, is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and comes from the production house of Dharma Productions. Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh not only brings back Akshay but also stars R Madhavan and Ananya Panday in pivotal roles.

Taking inspiration from the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat, Kesari Chapter 2 delves into the aftermath of the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The narrative centers around advocate C Sankaran Nair's battle for justice. Akshay Kumar steps into the shoes of C Sankaran Nair, with Ananya Panday portraying Dilreet Gill and R Madhavan taking on the role of Neville McKinley, adding depth and gravitas to this historic tale.

As Kesari Chapter 2 opened to rave reviews, it witnessed a decent footfalls on the opening day. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kesari Chapter 2, which recorded a footfall of 12.67% during morning shows, picked up pace during the night shows. Kesari Chapter 2 recorded an occupancy of 27.80% in night shows on day 1 (first Friday)

Interestingly, Kesari Chapter 2 has managed to beat the night shows occupancy of Salman Khan's Sikandar and Sunny Deol starrer Jaat. For the uninitiated, Sikandar recorded an occupancy of 23.55% during the night shows on its opening day while it was 18.47% for Jaat

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar recalled shooting for Kesari Chapter 2 and stated, "Mostly actors use glycerin for their eyes to cry during film shoot. But, during the (emotional) scene and there is also a song...It is one of the most emotional song I have ever heard. The entire set was crying when we were picturing the whole scene"
