Kesari Chapter 2 Night Occupancy Day 2: Akshay Kumar, who was last seen in Sky Force early this year, is once again making headlines with his latet release - Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. Touted to be a historical courtroom drama, the film revolves around the harrowing events of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 draws its narrative from "The Case That Shook The Empire" by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat and has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

In Kesari Chapter 2, Akshay Kumar embodies the role of lawyer C Sankaran Nair - the man who challenged the British Empire and brought the truth behind the tragic massacre. Apart from Akshay, the film stars Ananya Panday as Dilreet Gill and marks R Madhavan's first on-screen collaboration with the Bade Miyan Chote Miyan actor as he plays the role of Advocate Neville McKinkley. As Kesari Chapter 2 had hit the screens amid a massive buzz, it opened to rave reviews from the audience and critics.

After witnessing a slump in footfalls during the morning shows on day 2 and recording a footfall of 11.68%, Kesari Chapter 2 saw a jump of over 250% in the occupancy during the night shows. According to a report from Sacnilk, Kesari Chapter 2 recorded an occupancy of 41.71% during the night shows on day 2.

Interestingly, Kesari Chapter 2 has managed to beat the night shows occupancy of Salman Khan's Sikandar. For the uninitiated, Sikandar recorded an occupancy of 33.12% during the night shows on its second day of release.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar recalled shooting for Kesari Chapter 2 and stated, "Mostly actors use glycerin for their eyes to cry during film shoot. But, during the (emotional) scene and there is also a song...It is one of the most emotional song I have ever heard. The entire set was crying when we were picturing the whole scene"
