Kesari Chapter 2 Occupancy Report Day 3: After a strong positive response to Kesari Chapter 2, a good hike in numbers during the weekend was already anticipated. And the latest Bollywood courtroom drama is meeting all the expectations. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and bankrolled by Dharma Productions, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh was one of the highly-anticipated releases of the year. Starring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday and R Madhavan in the lead, the film opened to positive reviews. The courtroom-drama kickstarted its Sunday theatrical run on a positive note with an impressive footfalls in morning shows compared to Saturday.

Mounted on an alleged budget of Rs 100-140 cr, Kesari Chapter 2 (Kesari 2) kickstarted its theatrical journey on Friday (April 18, 2025) with an opening day collection of Rs 7.75 cr. Due to the positive word-of-mouth, the movie went on to witness around 25.81% boost in numbers on Saturday (day 2, April 19).
As per the trade tracking site Sacnilk, Kesari Chapter 2 managed to add around Rs 9.75 cr, taking the total estimated nett collection to Rs 17.5 cr in 2 days. As of now, the total 2-day gross collection stands at Rs 30 cr. With an overseas earning of Rs 9 cr, the Akshay Kumar starrer grossed Rs 30 cr globally in 2 days.

Akshay, Ananya and Madhavan's Kesari Chapter 2 saw a splendid growth in footfalls during morning shows on Sunday (today, April 20). As per Sacnilk, the film had an overall 17.28% morning occupancy on Sunday.

As per Sacnilk, Kesari Chapter 2 had an approximately 11.68% morning occupancy yesterday (Saturday, day). That means, the movie recorded approximately 5.6% boost today in morning shows compared to yesterday.
Kesari Chapter 2 Vs Sikandar First Sunday Morning Occupancy
Akshay Kumar's Kesari Chapter 2 has managed to beat Salman Khan's Eid 2025 biggie Sikandar on first Sunday in morning shows. As per Sacnilk, Sikandar, released on March 30 (Sunday), had 13.76% footfalls in morning shows on its first Sunday.
For those uninitiated, Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, was Salman's return to big screens as a male lead after Tiger 3 (2023). The film was also Khan's trademark Eid release post 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' (2022), after skipping an Eid release on 2024. Despite strong pre-release buzz, Sikandar failed to impress the audience and is struggling at the box office.
Kesari Chapter 2 Budget & OTT Streaming Updates
If reports are to be believed, Kesari Chapter 2 has been mounted on an alleged budget scale between Rs 100-150 cr. As per reports, JioHotstar (formerly Disney+ Hotstar) has acquired the post-theatrical rights of Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story Of Jallianwala Bagh. That means, the latest Bollywood film will have its OTT premiere on JioHotstar after its theatrical run. However, an official OTT release date is yet to be determined.
During the press conference of Kesari Chapter 2, Kumar expressed his wish for the British government, including King Charles, to watch the film and 'realise their mistake'.
As reported by HT, Kumar was quoted saying, "I'm not here with a begging bowl to say, 'They should say sorry'. I want them to at least watch this movie and realise the mistake. Other things will flow automatically from their mouth. The apology is bound to happen, it will flow on its own. But I want them to watch this film. I want the British government and King Charles to watch this film. They should see what happened. The rest will follow automatically. (sic)"
