Kesari Chapter 2 Worldwide Box Office Day 1: Akshay’s Film Beats Sunny’s Jaat In Overseas On Opening Day

Kesari Chapter 2 Worldwide Collection Day 1: Akshay Kumar has collaborated with R Madhavan for the first time and we can't keep calm about it. We are talking about their much awaited release Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story Of Jallianwala Bagh. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 is backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. Touted to be a historical drama, Kesari Chapter 2 also features Ananya Panday in the lead and it has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
To note, Kesari Chapter 2 is based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat which revolved around C. Sankaran Nair and the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre and is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 release Kesari. Interestingly, Kesari Chapter 2 featured Akshay playing the role of C. Sankaran Nair while R Madhavan is seen in a negative role as advocate Neville McKinley. Interestingly, Kesari Chapter 2 opened to rave reviews from the audience as it hit the screens on April 18, 2025.

Released amid a massive buzz, Kesari Chapter 2 saw a decent start in the overseas market. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kesari Chapter 2 made an overseas collection of Rs 5.75 crores and made the total worldwide collection of Rs 15 crores.

With an overseas collection of Rs 5.75 crores, Kesari Chapter 2 has managed to beat Sunny Deol's Jaat on the opening day which minted Rs 2 crores in the overseas market on the first day
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar recalled shooting for Kesari Chapter 2 and stated, "Mostly actors use glycerin for their eyes to cry during film shoot. But, during the (emotional) scene and there is also a song...It is one of the most emotional song I have ever heard. The entire set was crying when we were picturing the whole scene"
