Loveyapa Box Office Collection Day 2: Junaid-Khushi’s Film Sees Over 40% Hike On 1st Saturday

Loveyapa Box Office Collection Day 2: Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor are all over the headlines today and rightfully so. After all, the duo had finally made their big Bollywood debut with the much talked about Loveyapa. Directed by Advait Chandan, Loveyapa is romantic comedy which also stars Ashutosh Rana, Grusha Kapoor, and Kiku Sharda, among others. After winning hearts with their respective performances during their OTT debuts with Maharaja and The Archies respectively, the newcomers have certainly managed to create waves with their first big screen appearances.
Interestingly, Loveyapa happens to be the official Bollywood remake of 2022 release Tamil hit Love Today. This Advait Chandan directorial also marks Junaid's first collaboration with Khushi and their fresh chemistry has got everyone talking in the town. From trailer to cast to quirky songs, Loveyapa had all the elements of being a perfect entertainer and got everyone speculating about its box office performance.

After raking in a collection of Rs 1.15 crores on day 1 (first Friday), Loveyapa saw a growth of over 44% in collections on day 2. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Loveyapa minted Rs 1.66 crores on first Saturday (day 2) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 2.81 crores
Loveyapa Beats Deva In Occupancy On Day 2
Interestingly, Loveyapa has been giving a tough fight to Shahid Kapoor's Deva in terms of footfalls in the theatres and has managed to surpass the Rosshan Andrrews directorial. While Deva recorded a footfall of 13.07% on first Saturday (day 2), Loveyapa had a footfall slightly more than that and recorded an occupancy of 14.35%
Meanwhile, during her conversation with Telegraph India, Khushi got candid about what made her agree for Loveyapa and stated, "I saw the original film (Love Today, 2022) and fell in love with the story. It is so relevant to today's times and both the characters (Khushi's Baani and Gaurav, played by Junaid Khan) seemed so much fun. The film has a fun and interesting way of depicting social media and the issues that we have with it, and even without it, today. Also, Baani is very different from how I am. It was interesting for me to play her"
