Interestingly, there have been speculations about whether Maalik will surpass the opening day collection of Rajkummar's previous release Bhool Chuk Maaf. Well the answer is no as Bhool Chuk Maaf had minted Rs 7 crores on its day of release.

Meanwhile, Maalik has been facing consistent comparisons with Ranbir Kapoor's Animal and Allu Arjun's Pushpa. However, in his conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Rajkummar had set the record straight and stated, "Every story has its own soul. We're not trying to replicate anyone. We're telling a story that's raw, real, and rooted in its own world".
