Metro In Dino Box Office Collection Day 1: Sara Ali Khan has returned to the big screen with her second film of the year, following her success in Sky Force and fans can't keep calm. The diva is making headlines with her recent release Metro In Dino which is a spiritual follow-up to the 2007 film Life In A Metro. Directed by Anurag Basu, Metro In Dino is a musical romantic drama which has generated significant interest due to its captivating trailer and impressive cast.

To note, Metro In Dino marks filmmaker Anurag Basu's return to big screen after 8 years. His last theatrical directorial was the 2017 release Jagga Jasoos. Apart from Sara, Metro In Dino also features Ali Fazal, Aditya Roy Kapur, Konkona Sen Sharma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Pankaj Tripathi, Anupam Kher, and Neena Gupta in the lead. The movie weaves together four touching stories about modern couples and has opened to a mixed response from the audience.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Metro In Dino witnessed a slow start at the box office and made a collection of Rs 3.35 crores on day 1 (first Friday).

However, despite a slow start, Metro In Dino has minted over 318% more than Life In A Metro. For the uninitiated, Life In A Metro had made a collection of Rs 80 lakhs on its opening day at the box office.

Meanwhile, talking about Metro In Dino, Sara told Deccan Chronicle, "This film is really special because I have always wanted to work with Anurag Basu sir. From watching and loving Metro to now featuring in it. Dreams really do come true. I have been an Anurag Basu fan - now I can say I am an Anurag Basu heroine too".
