Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid 2 is a crime thriller which featured Ajay reprising his role of IRS office Amay Patnaik. The movie stars Vaani Kapoor as the female lead while Riteish Deshmukh is seen as the lead antagonist. To note, Raid revolves around Amay Patnaik conducting his 75th raid and this time it was on the premises of Dada Manohar Bhai (played by Riteish Deshmukh). Interestingly, Raid 2 marks Ajay and Riteish's 4th collaboration after Masti, Cash and Total Dhamaal. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Raid 2 recorded an advance booking collection of Rs 92.19 lakhs with a sale of over 29 thousand tickets in just 24 hours.

Interestingly, with an advance booking collection of Rs 92.19 lakhs in 24 hours, this Ajay Devgn starrer has managed to surpass the 24 hours advance booking collection of Akshay Kumar's much talked about Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story Of Jallianwala Bagh which was Rs 82.85 lakhs. In fact, Raid 2 is likely to surpass the total advance booking collection of Kesari Chapter 2 which was around Rs 1.84 crores today itself.

Meanwhile, Ajay recently got candid about Vaani Kapoor replacing Ileana D'Cruz as the female lead in Raid 2 and stated, "You see it in a lot of Hollywood films also. Still, Sean Connery is not the James Bond. It's the character you follow, and then new people keep coming in".
