Raid 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: Ajay’s Film Mints 78% Higher Than Raid; Creates A Record On Opening Day

Raid 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: Ajay Devgn is here to take over the big screen with a bang and there are no second thoughts about it. The multi-talented actor has come with his first full fledged release of the year and it has left everyone in absolute awe. We are talking about Raid 2 which is the much awaited sequel to the 2018 release Raid. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid 2 is a crime thriller drama which also features Riteish Deshmukh, Vaani Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Rajat Kapoor, Amit Sial, Supriya Pathak etc in key roles. Needless to say, Raid 2 has managed to create a massive buzz in the town ahead of its release.

To note, Raid 2 marks Ajay's first collaboration with Vaani Kapoor who had replaced Ileana D'Cruz to step into the role of a female lead. On the other hand, Riteish Deshmukh is seen as the lead antagonist as he plays the role of a corrupt politician Dada Manohar Bhai. As fans have been quite excited to see Ajay locking horns with Riteish, the movie marks their 4th collaboration after Cash, Masti and Total Dhamaal. Interestingly, Raid 2 managed to win hearts and opened to rave reviews from the audience.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Raid 2, which minted Rs 6.52 crores from advance booking, made a collection of Rs 18.25 crores on the opening day (day 1/ first Thursday)

Raid 2 Surpasses Raid Collection

With an opening day collection of Rs 18.25 crores, Raid 2 as managed to beat the day 1 collection of its prequel Raid which had earned Rs 10.04 crores on its day of release.

Raid 2 Creates A Record

To note, Raid 2 has managed to beat the opening day collection of Sky Force with a decent gap and has recorded the third highest opening day collection of 2025 after Chhaava and Sikandar respectively.

Meanwhile, Ajay recently got candid about Vaani Kapoor replacing Ileana D'Cruz as the female lead in Raid 2 and stated, "You see it in a lot of Hollywood films also. Still, Sean Connery is not the James Bond. It's the character you follow, and then new people keep coming in". To note, Raid 2 is set to release on May 1 and will have a box office clash with Sanjay Dutt's The Bhootnii.
