Raid 2 Box Office Day 3: Ajay’s Film Sees 50% Hike; Mints Twice The Collection Of Kesari 2 On 1st Saturday

Raid 2 Box Office Collection Day 3: Ajay Devgn's massive fan following in India have been in for a treat with his latest release Raid 2. The much awaited sequel to Ajay's 2018 release Raid, this Raj Kumar Gupta happens to be a crime thriller drama. To note, Raid 2 comes with a stellar cast of Ajay Devgn who reprises his role of IRS officer Amay Patnaik along with Vaani Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Supriya Pathak, Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla and Amit Sial. From the trailer to the cast and the plot, everything about Raid 2 has managed to create a massive buzz in the town.
Interestingly, Raid 2 features Vaani Kapoor as the female lead and marks her first collaboration with Ajay Devgn. On the other hand, Riteish Deshmukh is seen playing the role of lead antagonist - a corrupt politician named Dada Manohar Bhai and the actor will be seen sharing the screen with Ajay for the fourth time after Cash, Masti and Total Dhamaal. Ever since the makers had unveiled the trailer, fans have been quite eager to watch Ajay's face off with Riteish. As expected, Raid 2 opened to rave reviews from the audience and has been thriving at the box office

After witnessing a major dip in numbers on the second day of release, Raid 2 saw a hike of 50% in numbers on day 3. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Raid 2 minted Rs 18 crores on day 3 (first Saturday) which took the overall collections of the film to Rs 49.25 crores.
Raid 2 Mints Double Of Kesari Chapter 2 & Jaat On 1st Saturday
With a collection of Rs 18 crores on 1st Saturday, Raid 2 has managed to beat both Kesari Chapter 2 and Jaat as it minted over twice their collection. For the uninitiated, Kesari Chapter 2 and Jaat had minted Rs 9.75 crores each on their first Saturday
Raid 2 Beats Raid On Day 3
In fact, Raid 2 has also managed to beat the collection of its prequel Raid on day 3 and first Saturday. For the uninitiated, Raid had minted Rs 13.86 crores on its first Saturday and Rs 17.11 crores on the third day of release.
Meanwhile, Ajay recently got candid about Vaani Kapoor replacing Ileana D'Cruz as the female lead in Raid 2 and stated, "You see it in a lot of Hollywood films also. Still, Sean Connery is not the James Bond. It's the character you follow, and then new people keep coming in". To note, Raid 2 is set to release on May 1 and will have a box office clash with Sanjay Dutt's The Bhootnii.
