Interestingly, Saiyaara witnessed a phenomenal footfall in theatres on the opening day. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Saiyaara saw an occupancy of 35.51% in the morning shows. This was followed by a footfall of 46.62% during afternoon shows, 50.85% during evening shows and 66.62% during night shows. To note, with such an impressive response from the audience in terms of footfalls, the total occupancy for Saiyaara turned out to be 49.90%.

Saiyaara Beats Chhaava In Occupancy On Day 1

To note, Saiyaara has managed to beat Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava which was leading the charts so far. in terms of occupancy on day 1. As a result, Saiyaara has recorded the highest occupancy on day 1. For the uninitiated, Chhaava had recorded an occupancy of 30.51% in the morning shows, 34.50% during afternoon shows, 40.51% during evening shows, 62.55% during night shows and a total occupancy of 42.02% on day 1.

Did Saiyaara Beat Stree 2 On Opening Day?

Well, given the huge response to Saiyaara, while there were speculations of registering a record breaking occupancy, fans have been eager to see if it managed to beat Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2. Well the answer is no. For the uninitiated, Stree 2 recorded an occupancy of 55.42% in morning shows, 84.86% in afternoon shows, 85% in evening shows, 83.07% in night shows and a total occupancy of 77.09% on day 1.

Meanwhile, Mohit Suri spoke about Saiyaara's comparisons with Aashiqui and told Firstpost, "When I made Zeher, they said it looked like Murder. When I made Ek Villain, they said it looked like Murder 2. When I made Malang, they said it looked like Ek Villain. When I made Aashiqui 2, they said it looked like Woh Lame and Rockstar. So I think when I go ahead and make my next film, they'll say it looks like Saiyaara. I think when they're comparing it to my own work rather than somebody else's, it's good".
