Written and directed by Srijit, the Bengali-language legal thriller film, released on 23rd January 2025, is bankrolled by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films.
The Srijit Mukherji directorial is an Bengali adaptation of the 1989 Hindi film 'Ek Ruka Hua Faisla'. For those unversed, the Hindi movie itself is a remake of the 1957 American film '12 Angry Men'.

According to the twitter page named West Bengal Box Office, Srijit Mukherji's Shotyi Bole Shotyi Kichhu Nei has emerged as the first Bengali film to cross the Rs 1 cr (nett) in 2025.
As per the tweet, the movie has now become the highest grossing Bengali film of 2025. The movie clashed with Rukmini Maitra's Binodiini - EKti Natir Upakhyan.
