Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 3: This Eid was particularly memorable for Salman Khan and his global fanbase. The actor, known for his role in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, released his first film of the year. Titled Sikandar, this romantic action thriller is directed by A R Murugadoss. Salman Khan's return to the big screen with Sikandar marks the end of a 1.5-year break from acting. Fans have been eagerly anticipating this release. This project is significant as it marks Salman's first collaboration with Rashmika Mandanna, creating buzz around their new on-screen chemistry. After making an opening day collection of Rs 26 crores, Sikandar saw a hike in numbers and raked in Rs 29 crores on day 2. However, this Salman-Rashmika starrer saw its first dip of over 30% on day 3 (first Saturday). According to a report published in Sacnilk, Sikandar minted Rs 19.5 crores on day 3 (first Saturday) and this took the overall collections of the film to Rs 74.5 crores
Sikandar Surpasses Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Lifetime Collection
Interestingly, with a total collection of Rs 74.5 crores, Sikandar has surpassed the lifetime collection of Akshay Kumar's popular action film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which had earned Rs 65.96 crores in its lifetime at the box office.
Rashmika Mandanna, in a conversation with India Today, shared her excitement about being chosen for the movie Sikandar. She expressed her admiration for Salman Khan, referring to him by his initials "SK," and mentioned the sense of accomplishment she felt upon receiving the offer. She highlighted her criteria for choosing film roles, emphasizing the importance of depth and emotion in commercial cinema, which attracted her to this project. Mandanna recalled how the producer, Sajid Nadiadwala, reached out with a promising proposal. While she was in Vizag for another shoot, the film's assistant director presented the storyline to her, immediately capturing her interest. Upon learning Salman Khan would be co-starring, she was astounded and reflected on her journey in the film industry.
The process of how Mandanna was cast in Sikandar began with a phone call from the producer, Sajid Nadiadwala, who teased an exciting opportunity for her. Intrigued, Mandanna agreed to hear the narrative. Despite being busy with another project in Vizag at the time, she made time to listen to the pitch. The assistant director's narration of the story resonated with her, leading her to inquire about the cast. The confirmation that Salman Khan was part of the project left her both thrilled and astonished, prompting her to question how she had landed such a significant role. Through this experience, Mandanna's desire for meaningful roles within the commercial film sector became evident, along with her appreciation for working alongside established industry figures like Khan.
