Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 12: Aamir Khan is over the moon lately and rightfully so. After all, his recent release Sitaare Zameen Par has been winning hearts and is doing wonders at the box office. Directed by RS Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par is a sports comedy drama which also features Genelia Deshmukh in the lead. Marking Aamir's return to the big screen after three years, Sitaare Zameen Par also happens to be his first collaboration with Genelia.

To note, Sitaare Zameen Par happens to be the official Bollywood remake of Spanish film Champions. Apart from Aamir and Genelia, Sitaare Zameen Par also features Dolly Ahluwalia, Brijendra Kala, Simran Mangeshkar, Shahani, Gopi Krishnan Varma, Naman Misra, Aroush Datta, Vedant Sharmaa, Samvit Desai, Aayush Bhansali. Released on June 20, Sitaare Zameen Par opened to rave reviews and has been going strong at the box office.

Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Say 12

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Sitaare Zameen Par has been unfazed by the new releases like Maa and Kannappa and has been going strong in the second week. After witnessing a massive dip in numbers on the second Monday, Sitaare Zameen Par maintained a steady hold on day 12 (second Tuesday) as it earned Rs 3.75 crores on both second Monday and second Tuesday. This took the overall collection of the movie to Rs 130.15 crores.

Did Sitaare Zameen Par Beat Housefull 5 On Second Tuesday?

While Sitaare Zameen Par has been facing frequent comparisons with Akshay's Housefull 5 and Ajay Devgn's Raid 2, it has failed to beat both on the second Tuesday. For the uninitiated, Housefull 5 had minted Rs 4.25 crores on its second Tuesday while the number was Rs 4.5 crores for Raid 2.

Earlier, talking about Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir stated, "Well, it's a beautiful story. Actually, the easiest way I can describe it is that Taare Zameen Par is a very emotional film which makes you cry. Sitaare Zameen Par makes you laugh, it's a humorous film. The theme is similar, of people with different abilities, different intelligence, or with different challenges. But, it's humour as opposed to emotions".
