Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 5: Aamir’s Film Holds Steady Ground; Recovers Over 83% Budget

Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 5: Aamir Khan has all the reasons to be on cloud nine these days and rightfully so. After the debacle of Laal Singh Chaddha and his three years break, Aamir is back with Sitaare Zameen Par which has managed to take the industry and the box office with a storm. Directed by RS Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par also features Genelia Deshmukh in the lead opposite Aamir and happens to be a sports comedy drama.

Sitaare Zameen Par revolves around a basketball coach Gulshan (played by Aamir) who has been given a community service to train a team of intellectually disabled adults for an upcoming basketball tournament. Marking Aamir's first on screen collaboration with Genelia, Sitaare Zameen Par is an official Bollywood remake of Spanish film Champions. As the movie was released amid a massive buzz, it opened to rave reviews from the audience and critics and has been doing wonders at the box office

According to a report published in Sacnilk, after witnessing a dip of over 68% on first Monday, Sitaare Zameen Par has been maintaining a steady hold at the box office. The movie made a collection of Rs 8.5 crores on day 6 (first Tuesday) just like Monday and this took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 75.15 crores. Interestingly, while Sitaare Zameen Par is said to be made with a budget of Rs 90 crores, it seems to have recovered over 84% of its budget before completing one week at the box office.

Sitaare Zameen Par Surpasses Bhool Chuk Maaf Lifetime Collection

Interestingly, with a total collection of Rs 75.15 crores in 6 days, Sitaare Zameen Par has managed to cross the lifetime collection of Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi starrer Bhool Chuk Maaf which was around Rs 72.43 crores.

Earlier, talking about Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir stated, "Well, it's a beautiful story. Actually, the easiest way I can describe it is that Taare Zameen Par is a very emotional film which makes you cry. Sitaare Zameen Par makes you laugh, it's a humorous film. The theme is similar, of people with different abilities, different intelligence, or with different challenges. But, it's humour as opposed to emotions".
