Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 7: Aamir Khan, who was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha, is back after three years hiatus and he has made sure to left everyone in absolute awe with his comeback. We are talking about Sitaare Zameen Par which is a sports comedy and features Genelia Deshmukh. Directed by RS Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par marks Genelia and Aamir's first onscreen collaboration. Needless to say, given Aamir Khan's massive stardom, Sitaare Zameen Par has been one of the most anticipated movies of the year.

Interestingly, Sitaare Zameen Par is the official Bollywood remake of the Spanish film Champions. The movie revolves around a suspended basketball coach who has been given a punishment of community service wherein he has to coach a group of intellectually disabled adults for an upcoming basketball tournament. As Sitaare Zameen Par was released amid massive buzz, it opened to rave reviews and created waves at the box office.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Sitaare Zameen Par saw a slight dip in numbers and it minted Rs 6.5 crores on day 7 (first Thursday). This took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 88.9 crores in week 1.

As Sitaare Zameen Par has been facing comparisons with Ajay Devgn starrer Raid 2, the Aamir Khan starrer has failed to beat the latter in week 1. For the uninitiated, Raid 2 had minted Rs 90.5 crores in week 1.

Interestingly, Sitaare Zameen Par is expected to see a dip in numbers today (day 8/ second Friday) with the release of Kajol's Maa. To note, Aamir's film has minted Rs 1.81 crores so far today and is expected to inch close to Rs 95 crores.
