Sky Force Box Office Collection Day 1: Akshay Kumar came with his first release of the year lately and we can't keep calm about it. We are talking about Sky Force which is an action drama that released on January 24, 2025 and also features Sara Ali Khan and Nimrit Kaur. Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, Sky Force is based on a real story and also marks the big Bollywood debut of business tycoon Sanjay Pahariya and Smruit Shinde's son Veer Pahariya

To note, Sky Force is based on India's retaliatory attack on the Sargodha airbase of Pakistan in the Indo-Pakistani air war of 1965 which happened to be India's first airstrike. Interestingly, Sky Force managed to create a lot of buzz in the town with its intriguing trailer and fans have been in absolute awe with Veer and Sara's chemistry. While there have been speculations about the movie's box office collection, it seems to have a decent opening at the ticket windows

Sky Force, which has minted Rs 3.78 crores from advance booking, saw a double digit start at the box office. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Sky Force minted Rs 11.25 crores on the opening day (day 1/ first Friday)

Sky Force Fails To Beat Fighter

While Sky Force has been facing frequent comparisons with Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter, Sky Force has failed to beat the latter. To note, Fighter made an opening day collection of Rs 22.5 and Sky Force had to settle with half of its collection as Rs 11.25 crores

Interstingly, with a double digit and decent opening at the box office, Sky Force has managed to record the highest opening of 2025 so far. It will be interesting to see if it keep up the pace during the coming days.

Meanwhile talking about Sky Force, Akshay told HT City, "Everyone declared him (Sqd. Ldr. A.B. Devaiah) a traitor and 23 saal tak kisi ko nahi pata tha that actually he was a hero. The character I play, Wing Commander K.O. Ahuja, based on Group Captain O.P Taneja, is senior to the character Veer plays in the film - T. Vijaya, based on Sqd. Ldr. Devaiah. Aap log vishwas karenge ki 23 saal baad inke parivar ko sarkaar ne maha vir chakra diya? The whole film is not only about war, it is also about what happens to the family and the children left behind".
