Sky Force Box Office Collection Day 2: Akshay’s Film Sees 75% Hike; Creates THIS Record On 1st Saturday

Sky Force Box Office Collection Day 2: Akshay Kumar is all over the headlines these days and rightfully so. After all, he has come up with a much awaited and most talked about patriotic drama this year. We are talking about Sky Force which happens to be Akshay's first release of the year. Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani and produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, Sky Force also features Nimrat Kaur, Sara Ali Khan, Sharad Kelkar and debutant Veer Pahariya.

To note, Sky Force is an action drama based on India's first airstrike, the Sargodha airbase attack on Pakistan in the Indo-Pakistani air war of 1965. The movie features Akshay and Veer in the roles of Indian air force officers while Nimrat and Sara were seen as their respective wives. On the other hand, Sharad Kelkar is seen in the role of a Pakistani air force officers. As Sky Force managed to create a massive buzz in the town, Sky Force opened to decent reviews from the audience

Interestingly, Sky Force witnessed a wonderful start at the box office with an opening day collection of Rs 12.25 crores (day 1/ first Friday). The movie went on to see a hike of over 75% on the second day of release and minted Rs 21.50 crores on the first Saturday right ahead of the Republic Day 2025. This took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 33.75 crores.

Sky Force Records Highest First Saturday Collection Of 2025

Interstingly, with a stupendous rise in collections, Sky Force recorded the highest second day collection of the year along with highest first Saturday collection of 2025. It will be interesting to see if it will maintain the pace in the coming days and create more records.

Meanwhile talking about Sky Force, Akshay told HT City, "Everyone declared him (Sqd. Ldr. A.B. Devaiah) a traitor and 23 saal tak kisi ko nahi pata tha that actually he was a hero. The character I play, Wing Commander K.O. Ahuja, based on Group Captain O.P Taneja, is senior to the character Veer plays in the film - T. Vijaya, based on Sqd. Ldr. Devaiah. Aap log vishwas karenge ki 23 saal baad inke parivar ko sarkaar ne maha vir chakra diya? The whole film is not only about war, it is also about what happens to the family and the children left behind".
