Superman Overpowers Maalik, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan On Day 1

Interestingly, Superman has been witnessing a box office clash with Rajkummar Rao's Maalik and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. While Superman has been the first choice of the audience so far, this David Corenswet movie did made a total collection more than other films. However, considering the Hindi market only, while Superman minted Rs 1.25 crores it failed to be Maalik which had earned Rs 3.75 crores. But the superhero film did beat Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan which had earned just Rs 35 lakhs on its day of release.

Meanwhile, talking about Superman, David Corenswet told GQ that he had never dreamt of becoming Superman. "One day I was in my home, fixing a light bulb when I got the call from my agent who said, 'Well David, I'm sure you know what this call is about,' and I had no idea and told him, 'What am I supposed to be waiting for, Top Gun 3? Just talk fast because I am on a ladder. Suddenly, he told me that I have an audition for Superman and that I am not special, and will have to send my tape in like everyone else and told me to not f*** it up," he added.
