Recently, after tying the knot with Sobhita Dhulipala in a lavish ceremony, he has captivated the audience once again with his latest film, Thandel. Interestingly, with an occupancy of 5.96% in morning shows on opening day in the Hindi market, Thandel has managed to beat Deva and Loveyapa which recorded a footfall of 5.87% and 5.65% in morning shows on its day of release.

Meanwhile, it is reported that Thandel is based on the true events of fishermen from Srikakulam. The media reports suggest that Thandel focuses on Chodipilli Musalayya who had joined 30 fishermen on a fishing trip in six boats in 2000 who endured a harrowing journey after drifting into Pakistani waters while fishing.
