The Diplomat Box Office Collection Day 14 Early Updates: John Abraham's Movie To See Growth On Wednesday?

The Diplomat Box Office Collection Day 14 Early Updates: The Diplomat, which was released on March 14, 2025, has become one of the most talked about Bollywood films of 2025 after Chhaava. With promising cast and an engaging plotline, the movie has already broken the multiple records John Abraham's earlier films. The movie marks John's return on silver screen after Vedaa, which was released on August, 2024, and it had a better opening day collection than the political drama. However, The Diplomat proved how a steady hold at the box office can become profitable for a film. Within a week, the movie has recovered the budget of the film, which was made on Rs. 20 Cr.
The Diplomat revolves around the life of J.P. Singh, who was an Indian diplomat posted in Pakistan and how he fought for a girl to bring her back to country after being married to a Pakistani nationale without her will. The movie also stars Sadia Khateeb, Kumud Mishra, Prapti Shukla, Jagjeet Sandhu, among others.
The Diplomat Box Office Collection Day 14 Early Updates
The Diplomat has earned Rs. 50 lakhs as of 8pm on day 14, according to the early updates of Sacnilk. The movie has earned Rs. 75 lakhs on day 13, which means to beat yesterday's collection and see some growth, The Diplomat needs to earn another Rs. 25 lakhs in 2 hours before the box office closes, which seems a bit impossible for the film to make. So, chances are there that the movie might see a dip in collection today compared to yesterday.
With this, the movie's India nett collection stands at Rs. 28.59 Cr as of 8pm, according to Sacnilk. To note more, the movie is only Rs. 1.41 Cr away to beat Vedaa's total lifetime earning, which stands at Rs. 30 Cr.
Recently director Shivam Nair opened up about the response the movie recieved, he said to Koimoi, "I am happy that people are liking the film. It is a good feeling that it is doing steady business. When I first heard the true story, I thought that it had to be told. The producers first introduced me to Uzma Ahmed when she landed in India in 2017 and she told me her complete story. I then asked her who was the diplomat who had done so much for her by rescuing her and so met J.P. Singh and heard his side of the story. What was fascinating for me was that no one had ever made a film on a diplomat here."
Talking about if casting John, who is mostly known for an action-hero like role like this, he said, "John loves such geo-political stories. We all knew that this film will not be a 'massy' product, so it won't work at that level, but will appeal to the audience that loved his Parmanu or Madras Café. And now, I find that a lot of female fans of his are liking this different John!"
Further adding, "Also John is being praised for his controlled acting. He is playing an intelligent man with a sharp brain and though we all know him as a star, for the first time, expectations have shot up from him as an actor. Look, he will always do his Garam Masala and Satyameva Jayate, but he will also get to do such characters."
For the unversed, Shivam Nair shot to fame with a TV serial, Sea Hawks, which came in the 1990s.
