The Diplomat Box Office Collection Day 15 Early Update: John's Film To Beat Vedaa's Lifetime Collection Today?

The Diplomat Box Office Collection Day 15 Early Updates

The Diplomat Box Office Collection Day 15 Early Updates: The Diplomat proved that slow and steady wins the race! While it appeared that the political drama might not even cross Vedaa's domestic collection upon witnessing the opening day collection, the movie proved everyone wrong by inching closer to beat Vedaa's lifetime collection on its day 15. The Diplomat lagged behind in terms of opening day collection compared to Vedaa, which earned Rs. 6.52 Cr on its opening day, while John's political drama earned Rs. 4 Cr only on opening day. Despite having a solid plotline, revolving around true story, the movie failed to garner much buzz among the audience, and it might be because of the Chhaava's presence at the box office, which turned out be the biggest blockbuster of this year.

The Diplomat, revolves around the life and struggle of Indian diplomat, J.P. Singh, who was posted to Pakistan, and had a difficult time in repatriating a young girl who was forced to marry a Pakistani nationale against her will. Apart from John Abraham, the movie also stars Sadia Khateeb, Jagjeet Sandhu, Prapti Shukla, Sharib Hashmi, Kumud Mishra, among others. Helmed by Shivam Nair, the movie is bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, John Abraham, Vipul D. Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl, Sameer Dixit, Jatish Varma, and Rakesh Dang, among others.

Talking about response the film received, director Shivam Nair said, "I am happy that people are liking the film. It is a good feeling that it is doing steady business. When I first heard the true story, I thought that it had to be told. The producers first introduced me to Uzma Ahmed when she landed in India in 2017 and she told me her complete story. I then asked her who was the diplomat who had done so much for her by rescuing her and so met J.P. Singh and heard his side of the story. What was fascinating for me was that no one had ever made a film on a diplomat here."

On day 15, i.e., 3rd Friday, the movie is inching closer to beat Vedaa's lifetime earning, which earned Rs. 30 Cr from worldwide, according to Sacnilk. But the question is- will that be able to do it today itself? Let's take a look!

The Diplomat Box Office Collection Day 15 Early Updates

The Diplomat earned Rs. 48 lakhs as of 8 pm on day 15, according to the early updates of Sacnilk. The movie has earlier seen a significant drop on 3rd Friday, compared to day 14 when it earned Rs. 75 lakhs seeing a dip of about -11.76% compared to day 13 when it earned Rs. 85 lakhs.

With this, the India nett collection of the film stands at Rs. 29.58 Cr as of 8pm on day 15. In order to beat Vedaa's lifetime earning, The Diplomat needs to earn another Rs. 42 lakhs today, which seems quite impossible for the film to make. However, it is expected that the film will beat Vedaa's collection tomorrow on day 16.

Recently Vidhatri Bandi, who plays the role of a diplomat, opened up how it felt like shooting with John Abraham, revealing that John was the biggest prankster on set, Vidhatri said, "It was great! My biggest takeaway from this film would be that I got to witness what discipline and consistency look like and I got to see that up and close watching John work on set and be in his element. His professionalism and dedication towards his work and craft are extremely inspiring and as surprising as it may sound, he's a big prankster on set. It's only because of him it wouldn't feel like work on some days and I'd give that credit to him only."
