BJP Applauds The Diplomat

After the release of John Abraham's film was released in theaters, BJP's official x handle took to X to applaud the movie. It mentioned, "India's diplomatic strength was on full display in May 2017 when the Modi Government rescued Uzma Ahmed from a forced marriage in Pakistan." The official handle further stated, "Recently dramatised in the John Abraham-starrer 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐷𝑖𝑝𝑙𝑜𝑚𝑎𝑡, this real-life operation showcased swift governance, led by former EAM Late Smt Sushma Swaraj Ji and diplomat J.P. Singh, ensuring Uzma's safe return."

Talking about his movie, John Abraham wrote, "At its core, The Diplomat is a story about people, not just politics. Set in the high-pressure world of diplomacy, the film shows how every move matters and every life counts. With powerful performances and a gripping narrative, the movie is a reminder of the fact that true heroes often work behind the scenes. (sic)" Despite so many praises The Diplomat faced struggle initially over being picked by any OTT platforms.

Addressing the OTT issue, John said to Pinkvilla, "The loss of faith happens from the studio. So when a studio sees a film it goes and does a round of OTTs, because a studio may want to mitigate the risk by sending it to an OTT channel. Some OTT channels have refused The Diplomat because they didn't find it great. They didn't find it good. They rejected the film; they threw it out (sic)."

The Diplomat stars John Abraham in the lead role, with a strong supporting cast that includes Sadia Khateeb, Kumud Mishra, Sharib Hashmi, Revathy, Ashwath Bhatt, Benjamin Gilani, and Jagjeet Sandhu, all playing key roles in the film.
