Thug Life Box Office Collection Day 1 (Hindi): Kamal Haasan, who was recently mired in a major controversy over his remark about the Kannada language, is now making headlines for his recent release Thug Life. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the movie happens to be a gangster action drama. Touted to be as one of the most anticipated releases of the year, Thug Life marks Kamal Haasan's reunion with Mani Ratnam after 38 years after their last collaboration in 1987 for Nayakan.

Interestingly, Thug Life, which features Kamal Haasan as Rangaraaya Sakthivel Naicker, is backed by a stellar cast including Abhirami, Trisha Krishnan, Rohit Saraf, Silambarasan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal and Babura. The movie has been grabbing a lot of eyeballs and fans were quite excited to see Kamal Haasan's face off with Silambarasan. As Thug Life was released amid massive buzz, it opened to mixed reviews from the audience.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Thug Life saw a slow start in the Hindi market and minted Rs 1 crores on the opening day (day 1/ first Thursday).

Thug Life Beats Vikram On Opening Day (Hindi)

With an opening day collection of Rs 1 crores, Thug Life has failed to beat Indian 2 which had minted Rs 1.2 crores. On the other hand, Thug Life has managed to mint four times more than Kamal Haasan's Vikram which minted Rs 25 lakhs on its day of release in Hindi.

Thug Life Box Office Collection Day 2 Prediction (Hindi)

Interestingly, Thug Life will be facing a tough competition in the Hindi market today as Akshay Kumar's Housefull 5 has finally hit the screens. Given the competition, Thug Life is likely to see a dip in numbers on day 2 in the Hindi domain.

Meanwhile, during an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, Kamal Haasan opened up on why it took him almost 4 decades to reunite with Mani Ratnam and stated, "It is that college reunion, they go about minding their business, suddenly they realize you've not met your old friend who could enhance your business, even why didn't I think of it kind of thing. They want to do that, but work keeps them away, and then one day, all of them plan and come together. That's what happened in this, it's as simple as that".
