Thug Life Box Office Collection Day 2 (Hindi): Kamal Haasan is here with his first release of the year and we can't keep calm about it. We are talking about Thug Life which has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the movie is an action drama which bring together the nation award winning director and the legendary actor together after 38 years. Yes! Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan had last worked together in 1987 release Nayakan and Thug Life marks their second collaboration together

Apart from Kamal Haasan, Thug Life also features Abhirami, Trisha Krishnan, Rohit Saraf, Silambarasan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal and Baburaj in key roles. While the trailer grabbed a lot of eyeballs, Thug Life trailer emerged as the second highest most viewed trailer of a Tamil film after Leo (31.91 million views). However, despite all the buzz, Thug Life witnessed a slow start in the Hindi market.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Thug Life which minted Rs 65 lakhs in the Hindi market on day 1, saw a major dip in numbers on day 2 (first Friday). It is reported that the movie earned Rs 29 lakhs on day 2 which took the overall collections to Rs 94 lakhs in Hindi domain

Thug Life Gets Crushed By Housefull 5

To note, Thug Life has been witnessing a major competition from Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh starrer Housefull 5 which is the recent release. While Housefull 5 minted Rs 24 crores yesterday, it has evidently crushed Thug Life which had to settle at 29 lakhs only.

Meanwhile, during an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, Kamal Haasan opened up on why it took him almost 4 decades to reunite with Mani Ratnam and stated, "It is that college reunion, they go about minding their business, suddenly they realize you've not met your old friend who could enhance your business, even why didn't I think of it kind of thing. They want to do that, but work keeps them away, and then one day, all of them plan and come together. That's what happened in this, it's as simple as that".
