Thug Life Box Office Collection Day 3 (Hindi): Kamal Haasan's Thug Life is in theatres now and the fans are going gaga about it. Directed by Mani Ratnam, Thug Life happens to be a gangster action drama and has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Interestingly, Thug Life reunites the acclaimed director with Kamal Haasan after 38 years. Their previous collaboration was the 1987 classic Nayakan and Thug Life emerges as their second project together.

Apart from Kamal Haasan, Thug Life boasts a star-studded cast including Abhirami, Trisha Krishnan, Rohit Saraf, Silambarasan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal, and Baburaj. The movie has been released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages and grabbed a lot off buzz post the release of intriguing trailer which became the second most-viewed Tamil film trailer after Leo, amassing 31.91 million views in just 24 hours. Despite the buzz surrounding its release, Thug Life experienced a lukewarm reception in the Hindi-speaking regions

After minting Rs 65 lakhs on the opening day, Thug Life saw its first dip in numbers on day 2 wherein it minted Rs 30 lakhs. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Thug Life saw another drop in numbers on day 3 (first Saturday) in the Hindi domain as the movie earned Rs 24 lakhs. This took the overall collection of the movie to Rs 1.19 crores

Thug Life vs Housefull 5 First Saturday

To note, Thug Life has been witnessing a major competition from Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh starrer Housefull 5 in the Hindi market. While Housefull 5 minted Rs 30 crores yesterday, it has evidently crushed Thug Life which had to settle at 24 lakhs only despite being a Saturday. Looks like Thug Life will be wrapping up soon in the Hindi domain

Meanwhile, during an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, Kamal Haasan opened up on why it took him almost 4 decades to reunite with Mani Ratnam and stated, "It is that college reunion, they go about minding their business, suddenly they realize you've not met your old friend who could enhance your business, even why didn't I think of it kind of thing. They want to do that, but work keeps them away, and then one day, all of them plan and come together. That's what happened in this, it's as simple as that".
