Thug Life Box Office Collection Day 1 (Hindi): Kamal Haasan has been a legendary actor who has given us several iconic films in his career spanning over 5 decades. The actor has acted in several languages and enjoys a decent fan following across the country. And while Kamal Haasan aces the art of setting the screens on fire everytime his movie hits a theatre, he is here with a new release which has been in the headlines for a while now. We are talking about Thug Life which is a gangster action drama and one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

Directed by Mani Ratnam, Thug Life marks Kamal Haasan's reunion with the filmmaker after 38 years. They had last collaborated in 1987 release Nayakan. Apart from Kamal Haasan, Thug Life also features Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal, Rohit Saraf and Baburaj in the lead. Needless to say, Kamal Haasan has left no stone unturned to promote his movie which has been releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. However, looks like Thug Life has failed to create a substantial buzz in the Hindi market

Thug Life Box Office Collection Day 1 Prediction (Hindi)

In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, film business expert Rohit Jaiswal stated that Thug Life has very less buzz in the northern market and will be having a slow start at the box office. He mentioned that Thug Life is likely to mint Rs 80 lakhs to 1 crores today (day 1/ first Thursday) in Hindi domain. Furthermore, he tweeted, "80% shows of #ThugLife in Hindi will be reduced from FRIDAY due to HOUSEFULL 5 release.... That means film is getting only 1 day free run here in Hindi, film needs to get GENUINE MASTERPIECE TAG to earn atleast respectable numbers, in case film turns out to be bad or even average it will end on Friday itself...."

Will Thug Life Beat Indian 2 On Day 1?

Interestingly, Thug Life has been witnessing continuous comparisons with Kamal Haasan's previous release Indian 2. If the box office prediction is said to be believed, while Thug Life is expected to earn Rs 80 lakhs to 1 crores today, it might fail to beat Indian 2 on opening day as the latter had made a collection of Rs 1.2 crores on its day of release in the Hindi market.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Hollywood Reporter India, Kamal Haasan had revealed that Thug Life is based on his script Amar Hai. "I finished a script and it was called Amar Hai, which was a pun. A man who is believed to be dead is not dead. His name is Amar, and that's the problem. Mani took it as an idea and went on to enhance it," the actor added.
