Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani Re-Release Box Office Collection Day 1: Did you remember the dialogue from 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani', "Yaadein mithai ki dabbe ki tarah hoti hai... ek baar khula toh sirf ek tukda nahi kha paoge"? Bunny and his gang, Naina, Avi and Aditi, proved the significance of this dialogue once again as the classic rom-com YJHD re-released in theatres yesterday (3rd January 2025) after nearly 12 years, making us revisit all those memories. Directed by Aayn Mukerji, the Dharma film starred Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin in the lead.

Joining the trend of re-releases, Karan Johar started the New Year by releasing his 2013 blockbuster film 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' once again on big screens. Honestly, we couldn't have had a better start than this, isn't it? Redefining the meaning of love and friendship, YJHD made its way back to cinemas on 3rd January 2025 and struck the perfect chord with the audience.

Amid huge anticipation, the romantic-comedy took the box office by whisker and saw a strong opening after its re-release. According to a report published by Sacnilk, YJHD minted around Rs 1.20 cr (nett) in top national chains. Reportedly, more than 65k tickets were sold for the opening day. For those unversed, the cult-classic film re-released in PVR Inox and Cinepolis.

Amid Pushpa 2 and Marco (Hindi) craze, Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone's cult-classic Dharma film had a strong opening after re-release in cinemas. Sohum Shah-starrer horror classic 'Tumbbad' is one of the films that took the box office by storm after re-release. Despite the strong opening, YJHD failed to surpass Tumbbad's first day numbers. As per reports, Sohum Shah's film minted around Rs 1.6 cr (nett) on the day of its re-release.
