Alpha Collection Day 1 Early Update: YRF Spy Universe's LOWEST Opener? FAILS To Beat War 2 Amid Negative Buzz

Alpha Box Office Collection Day 1 Early Updates: The latest chapter in YRF's Spy Universe, Alpha, finally hit theatres today (July 3). Headlined by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, the film created history as the franchise's first female-led spy thriller. Backed by strong pre-release promotions and massive expectations, the action entertainer generated quite a strong buzz ahead of its release.

However, the response has fallen short of expectations upon its release. Despite the hype, Alpha has opened to mixed-to-negative reviews from both audiences and critics.

Alpha Budget & OTT Streaming Platform Updates

Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner, Alpha - led by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari - also features Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol, while Hrithik Roshan makes a special appearance.

According to reports, the film has been mounted on an estimated budget of ₹100-130 cr. Alia is reportedly paid ₹25 cr, while Sharvari's remuneration is said to be around ₹3 cr, as reported by Asianet News.

Meanwhile, reports claim that Netflix has acquired the film's post-theatrical streaming rights. Although YRF has not officially confirmed the deal or announced an OTT release date, Alpha is expected to premiere on Netflix after completing its theatrical run.

Alpha Box Office Collection Day 1 Early Trend Today (Opening Day)

Early box office trends indicate a slow start for the spy thriller. According to Sacnilk's real-time estimates, Alpha has collected around ₹5.45 cr nett in India by 8:00 PM, with its India gross estimated at approximately ₹6.43 cr.

Given its current box office report card, Alpha is struggling to have a double-digit start, making it the lowest opener in the YRF Spy Universe.

Afternoon Shows:17.85%
Evening Shows: 19.69%

Alpha Vs War 2 Box Office

Every previous YRF Spy Universe film, including Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3, enjoyed significantly stronger openings. Even War 2, despite receiving negative reviews after release, debuted with ₹29 cr nett in Hindi on its opening day, according to Sacnilk.

Based on early estimates, Alpha is currently struggling to come close to that benchmark, making its opening one of the franchise's weakest starts so far.
