Bhooth Bangla Box Office Day 3: Akshay’s Film Records Its Highest Single Day Collection In Opening Weekend
Bhooth Bangla Box Office Collection Day 3: Bhooth Bangla opened in cinemas on April 17 and posted a steady first-day collection in India. The horror comedy entered theatres with strong advance interest, as trade watchers tracked ticket sales across multiplex chains and single screens in major cities. The film marks Akshay Kumar's first return to the horror comedy genre in five years. Audience attention has also centred on Akshay Kumar's new on-screen pairing with Wamiqa Gabbi, which gives the project a different look compared to earlier collaborations with other co-stars.

Bhooth Bangla includes a large ensemble supporting Akshay Kumar and Wamiqa Gabbi. The cast list features Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Mithila Palkar and Jisshu Sengupta. With so many recognised names, the production targets a broad audience that enjoys comedy mixed with supernatural elements. A key talking point is the reunion between Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan after a 14-year pause. Their earlier films built a lasting fan base, so the fresh project has drawn interest from viewers in India. For Priyadarshan, Bhooth Bangla is a return to Hindi cinema after Hungama 2, released in 2021. This is the filmmaker's second horror comedy in Bollywood, and again uses familiar comic beats, now placed within a ghostly setting for viewers looking for light scares and humour.

On the other hand, Bhooth Bangla, which made a collection of Rs 19cr on the first Saturday and Rs 23cr on the first Sunday, made a total collection of Rs 42cr during the opening weekend.
Meanwhile, in a conversation with Bollywood Life, director Priyadarshan spoke about the comparisons between Bhooth Bangla and Bhool Bhulaiyaa and stated, "This is completely different because the only nostalgia you get is because of these actors. Otherwise, that was a psychological thriller (Bhool Bhulaiyaa) and Bhoot Bangla is complete fantasy, like, will it happen or not? It could happen, or it could not happen. Bhoot Bangla is inspired by what we have in our folklore, mythology and superstitions".
