Bhooth Bangla Box Office Collection Day 7: Akshay Kumar returns to screens with horror comedy Bhooth Bangla, released on April 17. The film opened with healthy collections, yet weekday business has dipped at the box office. Reviews from critics and audiences are mixed, leaving the movie's long-term performance uncertain despite strong initial curiosity. Bhooth Bangla reunites Akshay Kumar with director Priyadarshan after a 14-year gap. The pair previously delivered comedies like Hera Pheri, Khatta Meetha, Bhagam Bhag, Garam Masala and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Bhooth Bangla has witnessed a 16.3% dip in numbers and earned Rs 5.15cr on day 7 (first Thursday). This took the overall collection of the movie to Rs 84.05cr after a week of release.

As Bhooth Bangla has been facing comparisons with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, it has failed to beat Kartik starrer which had minted Rs 9.5cr on day 7. In fact, as Bhooth Bangla earned Rs 84.05cr in week 1, it failed to beat Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 which had earned Rs 158.25cr in week 1.

Meanwhile, as Wamiqa Gabbi has been facing frequent comparisons with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Akshay defended his Bhooth Bangla co-star during a chat with Shubhankar Mishra and stated, "Her (Wamiqa's) eyes are like Aishwarya Rai's, but she has her own identity. She is doing things her own way. She entered the film industry after a lot of struggle. She worked in Punjabi films, and now she is working across Hindi, Telugu and Tamil cinema, exploring every genre".
