Bhooth Bangla Box Office Day 8 (Morning Trend): Bhooth Bangla, a horror comedy starring Akshay Kumar, reached cinemas on April 17 and reunited Akshay Kumar with director Priyadarshan after 14 years. Early collections were healthy, yet weekday business slowed. Reviews from critics and viewers have stayed mixed, even as Akshay Kumar's reputation for comic timing and comfort with light-hearted roles continued to draw attention. Bhooth Bangla features an ensemble led by Akshay Kumar, with Wamiqa Gabbi, Mithila Palkar, Jisshu Sengupta, Paresh Rawal, Asrani and Rajpal Yadav adding different shades of humour.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Bhooth Bangla saw a dip in footfalls during the morning shows today (day 8/ second Friday) and recorded the occupancy of 5.23%. While it has been facing competition from Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2, the espionage thriller has managed to beat Akshay Kumar's horror comedy as it recorded the occupancy of 7% during the morning shows

Bhooth Bangla has certainly been struggling at the box office as it entered week 2 and failed to earn Rs 1cr. To note, the movie minted Rs 80 lakhs during the morning shows today taking the overall collection to Rs 85.2cr

Meanwhile, as Wamiqa Gabbi has been facing frequent comparisons with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Akshay defended his Bhooth Bangla co-star during a chat with Shubhankar Mishra and stated, "Her (Wamiqa's) eyes are like Aishwarya Rai's, but she has her own identity. She is doing things her own way. She entered the film industry after a lot of struggle. She worked in Punjabi films, and now she is working across Hindi, Telugu and Tamil cinema, exploring every genre".
