Bhooth Bangla Box Office Day 9 (Early Trend): Akshay's Film Sees Hike In Footfalls; Eyes To Touch 100cr Nett
Bhooth Bangla Box Office Day 9 (Evening Trend): Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar, witnessed a tough run at the box office after its first week. The horror comedy began with solid interest, yet collections have slipped on weekdays. With audience response divided, trade watchers are unsure how strongly the film will hold in coming weeks. The film released on 17 April and registered healthy opening figures, helped by curiosity around its genre and cast. However, weekday earnings dropped steadily, signalling weaker long-term momentum. Critics and viewers have shared mixed opinions, which has limited word-of-mouth support and left Bhooth Bangla's overall box office prospects unclear.

Bhooth Bangla reunites Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan after a 14-year break from working together. The duo earlier teamed up on comedies such as Hera Pheri, Khatta Meetha, Bhagam Bhag, Garam Masala and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Those titles gained lasting recall, so expectations from their latest outing, especially in the horror comedy space, were high. The ensemble for Bhooth Bangla includes Wamiqa Gabbi, Mithila Palkar, Jisshu Sengupta, Paresh Rawal, Asrani and Rajpal Yadav. Akshay Kumar and Wamiqa Gabbi share the screen for the first time. Their pairing has generated discussion among cinema fans, as viewers assess their chemistry within Priyadarshan's second attempt at a horror comedy. Bhooth Bangla is also Akshay Kumar's return to horror comedy after a five-year gap, adding curiosity for followers of the genre. The project holds special emotional weight as the final big-screen role of late actor Asrani.

Meanwhile, as Wamiqa Gabbi has been facing frequent comparisons with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Akshay defended his Bhooth Bangla co-star during a chat with Shubhankar Mishra and stated, "Her (Wamiqa's) eyes are like Aishwarya Rai's, but she has her own identity. She is doing things her own way. She entered the film industry after a lot of struggle. She worked in Punjabi films, and now she is working across Hindi, Telugu and Tamil cinema, exploring every genre".
