Bhooth Bangla Worldwide Collection Day 5: Bhooth Bangla, the new Akshay Kumar horror comedy, reaches cinemas worldwide on 17 April. The film opens across India and in select overseas markets on the same date. Early international box office numbers fall short of trade estimates, creating a gap between ticket sales and expectations based on advance industry chatter. The film reunites Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar after fourteen years, reminding viewers of their earlier collaborations. Bhooth Bangla features an ensemble alongside Akshay Kumar and Wamiqa Gabbi, including Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Mithila Palkar and Jisshu Sengupta. Makers present the narrative as family-friendly, steering away from a very intense, pure horror experience.

Bhooth Bangla brings Akshay Kumar back to the horror comedy space after a five-year absence from the genre. The film also pairs Akshay Kumar with Wamiqa Gabbi for the first time, which sparks curiosity among followers. The project also marks Priyadarshan's formal return to Bollywood after a five-year break from Hindi cinema. Priyadarshan last directs a Hindi feature in 2021 with Hungama 2. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Bhooth Bangla saw maintained a steady hold in collection in the overseas market and earned Rs 2.5cr on day 5 (first Tuesday). This took the overall overseas collection to Rs 31.5cr after five day. However, Bhooth Bangla failed to beat the day 5 collection of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 in overseas which happens to be Rs 4cr.

On the other hand, the total collection of Akshay's film emerged as Rs 118.12crcr after 5 days of release.

Meanwhile, in a conversation with Bollywood Life, director Priyadarshan spoke about the comparisons between Bhooth Bangla and Bhool Bhulaiyaa and stated, "This is completely different because the only nostalgia you get is because of these actors. Otherwise, that was a psychological thriller (Bhool Bhulaiyaa) and Bhoot Bangla is complete fantasy, like, will it happen or not? It could happen, or it could not happen. Bhoot Bangla is inspired by what we have in our folklore, mythology and superstitions".
