Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 9: Sunny Deol starrer Border 2 has been creating waves ever since it was announced for several reasons. To begin with, Border 2 is a war drama based on the 1971 India vs Pakistan and is helmed by Anurag Singh. The movie is a sequel to the 1997 cult classic Border and marks Sunny Deol's return to the franchise after 29 years. To note Border 2 is co-produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar along with J. P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. Needless to say, Border 2 has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

Apart from Sunny Deol, Border 2 also features Diljit Dosanjh, Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh, Varun Dhawan, Medha Rana, Ahan Shetty and Anya Singh in the lead. Interestingly, Border 2 features Varun Dhawan in a never seen before role and marks his first collaboration with Diljit and Ahan and the trio's camaraderie has often won hearts. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Border 2 remained unfazed by the release of Rani Mukerji's Mardaani 3 and has earned Rs 11cr on day 8 (second Friday). This took the overall collection of the movie to Rs 235cr

Given the fact that it is a Saturday, Border 2 is expected to see a hike in numbers today (day 9/ second Saturday) and earn Rs 15-17cr. As a result, Border 2 is expected to touch Rs 250cr mark at the box office. In fact, Border 2 saw a hike in morning occupancy as well and minted Rs 2.5cr from morning shows until 12:30 PM

Meanwhile, given the response to Border 2, there have been speculations about Border 3. Talking about it, co-producer Bhushan Kumar told Hindustan Times, "We are doing a joint venture with his (Anurag Singh) company and my company. He'll be directing, and it will be something new. Border 3 will happen in due course".
