Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 16 Prediction: Sunny Deol has been all over the headlines lately and rightfully so. After all, the actor has returned with the sequel to 1997 release Border and it has been creating waved in the industry ever since it was announced. We are talking about Border 2 which is war drama and is helmed by Anurag Singh. Border 2 has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year and comes with a stellar cast which also includes name like Varun Dhawan, Mona Singh, Diljit Dosanjh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, Medha Rana and Ahan Shetty.

Based on India vs Pakistan war of 1971, Border 2 marks Sunny's return to the franchise after 29 years. While he played the role of Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri in Border, Sunny played the role of Lt Col Fateh Singh Kaler. On the other hand, the movie also marked his first collaboration with director Anurag Singh and the entire cast. Serving as a perfect Republic Day release, Border 2 opened to decent reviews and filled the audience with patriotism and franchise. However, after a phenomenal start, Border 2 was seen struggling during the second week at the box office.

While Border 2 started the third week on a slow note, it is expected to pick up pace today given the fact that it is a weekend. To note, Border 2 is expected to mint around Rs 4-5cr today (day 16/ third Saturday). While Border 2 is expected to enter the coveted Rs 300cr club in India today, it will be beating the lifetime collection of Salman Khan's blockbuster movie Sultan (Rs 300.45cr)

Border 2 Morning Occupancy Day 16

Border 2 has managed to see a hike in the occupancy during the morning shows on day 16 and saw a footfall of 6.13% as compared to an occupancy of 4.16% in morning shows yesterday. As Border 2 has been witnessing comparisons with Gadar 2, it failed to beat the latter which recorded an occupancy of 14.71% on day 16.

Despite a hike in footfalls, Border 2 failed to see a good start at the box office and minted Rs 20 lakhs from morning shows today. The movie is expected to pick up pace during the day.

Meanwhile, talking about Border 2 success, Anurag Singh told Bollywood Hungama, "We knew the emotions were working and were sure that audience would connect with those emotions. As far as the numbers are concerned, everyone had their guesses. I knew that the numbers would happen if the audience likes the film."
