Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 4 (Morning Trend): Remember the 1997 release Border which was helmed by JP Dutta? Every 90s kid was instilled with patriotism watch Sunny Deol roar as Major Kuldeep Singh. Now almost 30 years later, JP Dutta is back (this time as a producer), to make us nostalgic with the much talked about sequel Border 2. The movie will bring back Sunny Deol in the avatar of Indian Army Officer fighting against Pakistan. To note, Border 2 is set against the backdrop of 1971 India-Pakistan war and its release around the Republic Day has added to the patriotic flavour of the film.

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is a perfect watch for the young generation as the movie also features several young actors including Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa and Medha Rana. This isn't all. As a treat for the millennials, the makers have revived that iconic numbers 'Sandese Aate Hain' and 'Ae Jaate Huye Lamhon'. Released amid massive buzz with an impressive response to advance booking, Border 2 opened to decent reviews. In fact, the movie was seen picking up pace during the opening weekend and managed to enter the prestigious Rs 100cr club in three days. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Border 2 has recorded its highest morning occupancy which happens to be 40.39%.

Interestingly, with an occupancy of 40.39%, Border 2 has recorded the second highest Republic Day occupancy so far after Pathaan. This isn't all. Border 2 has managed to beat Pathaan (13.20%), Jawan (17.38%) and Fighter (23.21%) in terms of morning occupancy on first Monday as the war drama has shown an impressive hold.

It is reported that Border 2 had minted Rs 10cr from the morning shows as seen on Sacnilk and is expected to have a good hold at the box office.

Meanwhile, as there have been speculations if Border 2 will be touching Rs 200cr mark after the extended weekend, film business Rohit Jaiswal has exclusively confirmed that Border 2 will be minting over Rs 50cr mark today (day 4/first Monday) and will be inching close to the Rs 200cr milestone.
