Border 2 Box Office Day 5 (Evening Trend): Varun' Film Struggles To Earn 15cr; Likely To Fail To Touch 200cr

Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 5 (Evening Trend): Varun Dhawan is here with his first release of the year as Border 2 and his massive fan following can't keep calm about it. The actor, who is known for his quirky style, humour and dancing skills, left everyone spellbound as he played the role of an Indian army officer for the first time on the big screen. He was seen playing the role of Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya and it was a treat to watch him in the uniform in this Anurag Singh directorial. For the uninitiated, Border 2 is the sequel to the 1997 release Border and is a war drama based on the 1971 India-Pakistan War.

Apart from Varun, Border 2 has also been grabbing the eyeballs as it brings back Sunny Deol to the Border franchise after almost three decades. Besides, Border 2 also features Diljit Dosanjh, Sonam Bajwa, Ahan Shetty, Medha Rana, Anya Singh and Mona Singh in the lead. Interestingly, Border 2 has been grabbing eyeballs not just for the plot, cast and trailer but also for the songs which have been adding to the nostalgic vibes of the film. As Border 2 opened to mixed reviews, it saw a massive performance during the extended weekend but the first Tuesday came with a major dip.

Border 2 Evening Occupancy Day 5

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Border 2 saw a major dip in occupancy and recorded a footfall of 29.79% on day 5 (first Tuesday). In fact, it failed to beat Dhurandhar and Gadar 2 with a huge gap in footfalls as they recorded an occupancy of 43.24% and 97.15% respectively on day 5.

Interestingly, Border 2 has seen a growth at the box office on the fifth day of release. After crossing Rs 2cr during morning shows (until 12:30 pm), Border 2 has failed to earn 15cr so far. In fact, the movie's collection stands at Rs 12.5cr at 7:30 pm taking the overall collection of the movie to Rs 189.5cr. It is evident that Border 2 is struggling to touch Rs 200cr mark today (day 5/ first Tuesday)

Meanwhile, Border 2 has recorded the second highest Republic Day collection and has even emerged Varun Dhawan's highest grossing film of all times.
