Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 7: Border 2, led by Sunny Deol, is emerging as a major box-office draw this year. The war drama has opened to generally positive reviews and strong audience word-of-mouth. Trade reports state that Border 2 is storming the box office, with fresh records reportedly set every day. The film reunites the franchise with Sunny Deol almost three decades after Border released in 1997. Border 2 is directed by Anurag Singh and co-produced by JP Dutta, who created the original. The new chapter again explores the 1971 India-Pakistan war, highlighting the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy.

Alongside Sunny Deol, the ensemble includes Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Diljit Dosanjh, Medha Rana, Sonam Bajwa and Mona Singh. Viewers have especially praised Diljit Dosanjh and Sunny Deol for intense war-front scenes. Varun Dhawan's turn as Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya has drawn wide attention, with many calling the performance spellbinding. Nostalgia also plays a clear role in Border 2. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Border 2 saw a dip of 13.46% in numbers on day 7 (first Thursday) and earned Rs 11.25cr. This took the movie's overall collection to Rs 224.25cr

Border 2 vs Gadar 2 Week 1 Collection

While Border 2 has been facing a lot of comparisons with the much talked about Gadar 2, this war drama has failed to beat the latter on day 7 and also in terms of week 1 collection. For the uninitiated, Gadar 2 had earned Rs 23.28cr on its 7th day of release taking the week 1 total to Rs 284.63cr

Meanwhile, given the response to Border 2, there have been speculations about Border 3. Talking about it, co-producer Bhushan Kumar told Hindustan Times, "We are doing a joint venture with his (Anurag Singh) company and my company. He'll be directing, and it will be something new. Border 3 will happen in due course".
