The Ram Charan-led film posted strong earnings through its opening weekend, then saw a sharp fall in ticket sales on its first Monday, highlighting a clear gap between early hype and weekday footfall. The film's initial four days in theatres brought in about Rs 157.15cr net from India alone. This figure came despite criticism about how Janhvi Kapoor's character was written and shown on screen. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Peddi, which earned Rs 3.85cr on day 4 in the Hindi version, saw a dip of 63.44% in numbers. The movie failed to touch Rs 2cr and earned Rs 1.4cr on day 5 (first Monday) taking the overall collection to Rs 13.3cr

Peddi (Hindi) Fails To Beat Game Changer On 1st Monday

As Peddi has been facing frequent comparisons with Ram Charan starrer Game Changer, it has failed to beat the latter. For the uninitiated, Game Changer had minted Rs 2.2cr on its first Monday in the Hindi version.

Meanwhile, during an event, director Buchi Babu Sana lauded Peddi lead actress Janhvi Kapoor and asserted, "We are all huge admirers of your mother, Sridevi garu. Janhvi has played Achayamma beautifully, and hers is one of the most important roles in the film. Her performance in the climax is outstanding. There is a strong sense of heroism in her character, and I am grateful that she became part of this journey".
