Interestingly, with a grand opening, Raja Shivaji has managed to beat the opening day collection of popular Marathi movie Sairat (Rs 3.6cr) and has emerged as the highest Marathi opener of all times. In fact, Riteish also got his second highest opener after Housefull 5 in the post COVID 19 era.
Meanwhile, Riteish credited his wife Genelia Deshmukh, who is also the producer, for making the film as per a report in Money Control and stated, "As the producer, Genelia said, 'You just worry about the film that you want to make. It's my job to provide you with what you need for your vision.' If there ever came a point where we couldn't afford something, she would say, 'I will try and manage,' she never said 'no' to my vision. That is why we were able to achieve so much, even within our limited capacity. She wanted what is best for me and the film, and you need people like that".
