According to a report published in Sacnilk, Raja Shivaji, which recorded an advance booking collection of over Rs 3cr gross (with block seats) for the Marathi version is eyeing a phenomenal start at the box office. The movie is likely to mint around Rs 6-8cr on day 1 in the Marathi market taking the overall collection of Rs 8-10cr in India. It is evident that the release of Raja Shivaji on the occasion of Maharashtra Day will benefit the movie to a great extent.

Raja Shivaji To Become Highest Marathi Opener

If the reports turned out to be true, Raja Shivaji is likely to become the highest Marathi opener of all times and will beat the opening day collection of Sairat and Timepass 2 which had earned Rs 3.6cr respectively.

Meanwhile, Riteish credited his wife Genelia Deshmukh, who is also the producer, for making the film as per a report in Money Control and stated, "As the producer, Genelia said, 'You just worry about the film that you want to make. It's my job to provide you with what you need for your vision.' If there ever came a point where we couldn't afford something, she would say, 'I will try and manage,' she never said 'no' to my vision. That is why we were able to achieve so much, even within our limited capacity. She wanted what is best for me and the film, and you need people like that".
