Everyone knows that Sunil Shetty is crazy about cricket. And after returning from a long schedule of Umrao Jaan in Jaipur, he was excited about his plans ot go to Pakistan for the on-going India Pakistan series. He'd been planning this for weeks and then his plans were foiled.
Shetty was planning to fly down with Gautam Singhania in his private plane to watch the second One Day International at Rawalpindi on February 11 between India and Pakistan.
All his bags were packed and he was ready to go when he learnt that JP Dutta needed those dates from him for some patchwork for Umrao Jaan the very same day. For Sunil, work comes first so he decided to cancel his plans to cheer for India.
Sunil when contacted says disappointedly, "Yes, I was supposed to fly down to Rawalpindi with Gautam and some friends but I couldn't go. I will be shooting for JPsaab's Umrao Jaan during that time in Rajasthan. I fly off tomorrow morning and come back in four days after which I go to London."
Sunil loves cricket and makes it a point not to miss any match even while shooting. The last time during the fifth ODI between South Africa and India played in Mumbai (which India had won) he had gone to watch it at the cricket field taking his son Ahaan with him.
Sunil is playing the role of bandit Faiz Ali in Umrao Jaan which also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Divya Dutta, Ayesha Jhulka and Puru Rajkumar. This is Sunil's fourth film with Dutta after Border, Refugee and LOC.
