Ram
Gopal
Varma's
Factory,
known
for
producing
dark,
hard-hitting
films
has
also
churned
out
comedies
once
in
a
while
(Rangeela,
Daud,
Love
Ke
Liye
Kuch
Bhi
Karega).
Their
last
comic
outing
Mr
Ya
Miss
however
was
a
huge
disappointment.
But
what
is
coming
next
from
RGV
looks
like
a
promising
laugh-riot.
Darwaza
Bandh
Rakho
-
the
title
may
give
the
impression
that
the
film
is
a
thriller.
But
the
trailer
makes
it
clear
that
it's
a
madcap
hilarious
comedy
flick.
Irrespective
of
the
film,
the
trailers
of
Ram
Gopal
Varma
films
have
always
been
interesting
enough
to
entice
the
audiences.
Darwaza
Bandh
Rakho
is
no
exception.
The
chronologically
cut
trailer
supported
by
some
creative
catch-lines
gives
a
correct
gist
of
the
movie's
plot,
as
well.
And
despite
the
movie
has
around
40
characters
in
it,
the
trailer
doesn't
look
confusing
or
ambiguous.
Most
of
the
characters
are
the
actors
often
seen
in
Ram
Gopal
Varma
films
with
the
only
addition
being
Isha
Sharvani
(of
Kisna
fame).
One
rich
little
poor
victim
The
promo
opens,
introducing
an
underworld
gang
of
four
members
Snehal
Dhabi,
Zakir
Hussain,
Chunky
Pandey
and
Aftab
Shivdasani.
And
wait,
before
you
think
this
is
another
underworld
flick
by
RGV,
let
me
tell
you
it
isn't.
In
fact
this
one
appears
like
a
spoof
-
more
of
a
black
comedy.
The
gang
kidnaps
'one
rich
little
poor
victim'
-
Isha
Sharvani.
And
to
position
their
hostage,
they
land
up
in
the
house
of
a
vegetarian
Gujarati
family
(headed
by
Ishrat
Ali
and
Smita
Jaykar).

So
far
so
good!
Everything
was
working
as
per
their
plan.
As
they
had
expected!
But
what
they
didn't
expect
were...
35
uninvited
guests.
As
the
doorbell
rings,
each
member
enters
the
house.
But
no
one
is
allowed
to
leave
to
avoid
the
kidnap
from
kaput.
And
the
door
bell
keeps
ringing.
Uninvited
guest
list
Includes
as
many
as
35
characters...
a
pizza
boy
(Nitin
Raikwar),
a
cop
(Ravi
Kale),
a
gangster
(Raju
Mavani),
a
financer
(Jeeva),
the
housemaid
(Divya
Dutta),
a
salesgirl
(Manisha
Koirala)
and
many
more.
What
follows
is...
nearly
fantastic
action.
Unwanted
ingredients
Also
the
trailer
makes
the
movie
intentions
very
clear
by
excluding
Bollywood
masala
ingredients
like
'dosti,
pyaar,
family,
weddings,
song,
dance
and
Switzerland'.
This
one
just
has
100%
pure
entertainment
Recipe
The
trailer
taglines
promise
-
'Passable
romance'
between
Chunky
-
Manisha
and
Aftab
-
Isha
(the
hostage
finds
the
kidnapper
cute).
-
'Okay
sentiment'
and
-
'Not
so
okay
comedy'
Captivators
This
'Entertainment
One'
and
'Ram
Gopal
Varma'
production
is
directed
by
Chekravarthy
(the
guy
who
played
Satya
and
directed
the
best
episode
of
Darna
Zaroori
Hai,
the
one
that
starred
Randeep
Hooda).
No
Entry
Interestingly
the
trailer
ends
on
an
ironic
uninviting
note
stating
'You
are
not
welcome'.
Well,
that
would
be
the
obvious
response
after
having
35
characters
held
captive
in
an
apartment
just
for
the
sake
of
one
hostage.
Darwaza
Bandh
Rakho
promises
to
keep
you
captivated.
